Julia Fiona Roberts' parents are Walter Grady Roberts and Betty Lou Bredemus. Julia Fona Roberts is the fourth generation of Roberts that resided in Atlanta. Early on, her father became interested in theater. As a student in Emory University he appeared in diverse productions, both at and off the campus. When he joined in 1953 the Air Force and was spotted alongside Betty Lou Bredemus in Biloxi. Eric Anthony was their first born. The couple was married in the year. Walter was enrolled in Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In 1957 they quit the Air Force and Walter began his studies at Tulane University. Walter joined Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio after the family relocated from Atlanta to Decatur, Georgia in the year 1960. Walter as well as Betty Lou began producing a children's TV show in Georgia, Decatur called Bum Bum and His Buddies. They funded the show by themselves. The Actors and Writers Workshop was created in the year 1964 and ran for six years. They welcomed in 1965 two more children into their lives: Lelisa Billingsley and Julia Billingsley.
